I’m pretty sure I’ve had the typical 100-foot chalk reel and 65 feet of the string didn’t have chalk on it.
At 30 feet, DeWalt’s pint-sized DWHT47257L is right-sized for remodeling work: basements, decks, bathrooms – you name it.
The belt clip is awesome and the tool is nearly weightless on my belt, where it lives. The 3:1 crank is nice and the hook is stout. I haven’t broken the string yet, either.
