E-Z Stroke Saw

1 MIN READ

One of the cool parts about my job is that I get press releases about new tools hitting the market. This one comes from plumbing and specialty tool supplier Jones Stephens. The company already has E-Z Stroke saw handles and blades out there for PVC and wood. The announcement I got is for an E-Z Stroke blade that cuts metal, namely the softer stuff like iron, copper, and brass.

I can say with 100% certainty that this is not a saw I’d use every day. No one would. But with blades to switch between problems—wood, plastic (it apparently leaves PVC burr-free), and now metals—it seems like a tool that makes sense to keep in the back of the box or hung on the trailer wall until whatever impossible scenario strikes and you need to make an oddball cut.

On the other hand, maybe not. Maybe the oscillating tools of the world have taken over solving all these problems with an elegant hand tool. I hope not. Watch the company’s video and let me know what you think.
