Blåkläder recently unveiled their 1960 work pants (video below). That’s the model number, not the date—because there were definitely no pants like these in 1960, 1980, or even 2000.
The model 1960 pants have the external kneepad pockets, waist-level pouches, and multiple pockets Blåkläder work pants are known for. The main difference between these and earlier models is the fabric, a cordura denim that looks like the denim used in jeans but is far more durable. Unlike the Blåkläder pants you are accustomed to seeing; these are the same color throughout so they have a more understated look. They say “This guy’s a tradesman”, as opposed to “HEY, I’M A TRADESMAN!” (not that there’s anything wrong with proudly declaring who you are and what you ).
These pants are available in Europe but not in the United States. Blåkläder is thinking about bringing them here later this year—which is why they showed them around at The World of Concrete. I found the 1960 pants on Blåkläder’s UK website, where they list for 89 Euros (at the current exchange rate—about $97 US).
