Carr Electric Work-Truck Steps

1 MIN READ

A number of companies make accessory steps for trucks and vans. What’s different about this new model from Carr is that it’s electrically powered and wirelessly controlled through the use of a key fob. Available in a variety of sizes, it mounts below the box of a service body. It tucks away when not in use but can be extended when you need to access something high on the vehicle.

The company has an interesting pedigree. Carr was founded by a pattern maker (for metal castings) in Los Angeles in 1945. By the early 1980s it was making OEM truck accessories for off-road vehicles. Business was good so it began making work-truck accessories under its own label. The company is located in Temecula, Calif., and claims to make all of its products in the USA.
