Rooftop iStep hooks onto the door latch; the product's website says it's rated for 300 pounds.

It’s textured so, nonslip?
At first glance, the Roofstep iStep looks like a great way to launch oneself up to the ladder rack of a van, pick-up, or service body truck. The various contortions I’ve found myself in include overreaching, climbing on top of the vehicle cab to fetch a tangled line, or standing on the truck seat, and none seem as elegant a solution as this seems to be.

That is, until I visited the website. Dialogue boxes pop up to say “Joey Bagadonuts bought a Roofstep iStep 13 minutes ago.” The photos are jumbled together. The fonts and colors change like the website was designed by a pre-teener who likes ponies. It makes me wonder whether the elegant solution to a real challenge might be infomercial-level junk.
The site says the iStep can hold 300 pounds. At 6 inches by 4 inches by 4 inches, it seems small, but small may be good when stored in the truck. It’s 20 bucks so even if it doesn’t work, it’s not a million bucks.
