Site Commander Update

I just got back from the Detroit custom shop where we’re building the three 2008 TOOLS of the Trade Site Commanders for this year’s LENOX-sponsored tour. The Dodge 5500’s with their Reading Body units are in a secure work bay at Special Projects, ready for the rest of their customization before launching in late September.

Special Projects builds show cars and trucks from the ground up for all the major manufacturers and from what they showed us from past projects – our Site Commanders will receive the highest quality detailing and construction ever!

After inspecting our Dodge trucks, Terry Steller and Jason Adams gave us a tour of the Special Projects warehouse where they store about 85 million-dollar show cars….everything from a super-custom Ford Superchief pickup to a race-ready Ford GT — they’ve even built cars for Jay Leno and the U.S. Ski Team. Awesome guys – thanks for the tour! Check out their work for yourself at www.specproj.com.

We’re well into the build-out with products and tour materials arriving from all the other sponsors including military-grade laptops from Dell, a complete arsenal of wireless communication gear from Sprint, innovative new ladders from Werner Ladder, and special all-terrain versions of the two-wheel Segways. In addition, our building product sponsors Georgia-Pacific and Therma-Tru Doors will be demonstrating new product innovations as part of the overall Innovations and Leadership Tour theme.

This year’s tour will focus on more than 400 Lowe’s stores around the country, and with three Site Commanders on the road we’ll be covering a lot of territory — chances are we’ll bring one of them to a Lowe’s location near you.

And once again this year – you’ll have the chance to win The Site Commander loaded with features and technology never before seen in a work truck. This year’s Sweepstake will be more valuable than ever, so stand by for regular updates – and I’ll let you know where you can go to see the Site Commander in person, and how you can enter the Site Commander Sweepstakes.
