Curves Create a Dramatic Deck

To form the curved railing, 5/16-inch-thick clear old-growth cedar strips were laminated together in special forms, using radio frequency to cure the glue. The balusters are Deckorator 3/4-inch tubes. Double 2×12 pitched joists and regular framing support the deck’s floor, which is made of 3/4-inch OSB, 60-mil rubber roofing, 1 inch of sand, and blue stone pavers.
