As with many respondents who seem to be complying with RRP to simply keep their company operating above-board, most remodelers are only doing as much as they have to in order to comply. Only 22% of remodelers said they have attended RRP training beyond the required Certified Renovator classes. Another 11% say they plan to do so.

“I was surprised that even though such a high percentage of the ‘informed’ Reader Panel respondents indicated their biggest concern was liability (53%), only 33% have attended any training specific to the RRP other than the required training,” McCadden says, reiterating his point that compliance goes well beyond how the work is performed.
