As more remodelers do earn their RRP certifications, they may be surprised to find that their plans to purchase materials at their local building supply shops may be thwarted.
As evidenced by Q10, only 28% of remodelers purchase RRP tools and equipment at their local building supply dealers, though 41% of uncertified contractors plan to do their shopping there. The 8% of uncertified contractors who currently plan to shop at specialty stores for such supplies may soon have more company, as 24% of certified contractors find specialty stores to be their primary RRP shopping destinations. The number of respondents who plan to do their RRP shopping online was relatively similar between certified and uncertified contractors (29% and 27%, respectively).
