Reader Panel: How is RRP Affecting Your Business?

19 MIN READ

15. Which of the following is the most likely reason you would become a certified firm?

As varied as the reasons for not becoming certified are the reasons respondents gave for potentially changing their minds and becoming certified. While 16% say they will not become certified for any reason, many respondents say they will complete their RRP certification only at the behest of another person or group on which their business depends.

Requirements of RRP certification by homeowners, general contractors, insurance providers, or permitting offices, were listed as potential reasons for becoming certified by a combined 35% of respondents. (That said, no respondents said requirements by their suppliers would spur certification.)

Costs come up in this set of responses as well. Five percent of respondents said they’ll become certified if they end up getting fined for non-compliance, and another 5% will complete certification when they feel they’re able to cover the related costs.
